My story
Thank you for wanting to learn a little more about me! My photography initially started as a creative outlet during my undergrad and Master’s degrees (both in English), then it turned into a necessity to get my husband through his grad programs, and NOW it is my happy place. I love meeting you, capturing your special moments, and making sure you are hydrated and having a good time throughout all of it! :)
When I'm not taking photos, you can always find me with a carbonated (likely caffeinated) drink, and I’m most likely cuddling my cats, teaching writing classes at BYU, baking sourdough, or hanging out with my family. You *might* also find me buying holiday decorations I don't need or planning a dinner party with friends.
I'm so excited to be your friend!
xoxo

The way I do things…
When you're taking photos with me, we will be chatting the *whole* time. I will give you lots of prompts, and I'll take cues from how you're feeling & what you enjoy!
I used to be the girl who HATED getting her picture taken because I always disliked the way I looked. BUT THEN I figured out how to emphasize the parts of myself and my personality that I love the most, and I want to do the same for YOU! I’ll help you look and feel your very very best.
I love capturing a mixture of candid and posed moments so that you feel comfortable, natural, & beautiful. I want to capture who you truly are and what your love story is really all about. No staged prom poses here!
Fun Facts…
-
I grew up in the Midwest! I’m from Des Moines, Iowa, which means I have a DEEP love for state fairs, fireflies, lush green hills, porch lights that stay on all night long, neighbors that become family, and Raygun tote bags.
-
I have always been obsessed with school. I was the girl who picked out her outfits WEEKS in advance of the school year starting, saved up for new notebooks and pencil grips, and sat at the FRONT of the classroom so I could answer every single question I knew. The same was true when I started college. I love learning, I love reading, and I wanted to be able to teach! So, I got my Master’s in English and now I work as an adjunct professor teaching freshman writing and technical writing. If you want someone to bond with over reading LATE into the night or getting overly excited about shopping for school supplies, I am your girl!

My husband, Spencer, is my best friend. So most of my bucket list items revolve around time together! I’m DYING to take him on a RV roadtrip to the Grand Canyon, I’d love to go on a Mediterranean cruise together, I want to write a book, and I really need to learn how to bake the perfect cheesecake.

Spencer was adopted as an infant, so adoption is always something that we have been interested in pursuing together. After 3 years of infertility, we decided to go for it! We have finished our home study, and we’re currently in the process of working with an agency and waiting to be matched with a birth mom! Eventually, we would also LOVE to be foster parents because we both feel really strongly about the need for happy, healthy homes in the Foster Care system.

You’ll catch me visiting my best friends in Southern California, shopping at the flea market, eating Cava and ice cream, walking along the beach, and ending the day with a movie and snack board! Who wants to come??
